Blizzard Präsident J. Allen Brack ist zurückgetreten. An seine Stelle übernehmen Vize-Präsident Mike Ybarra und Vicarious Chefin Jennifer Oneal.
Nach der Klage rund um sexuelle Belästigung und Diskriminierung bei Activision Blizzard gibt es nun eine erste große Konsequenz. Blizzards aktueller Präsident J. Allen Brack ist zurückgetreten und macht Platz für einen Neuanfang.
Brack sagt dazu:
I am confident that Jen Oneal and Mike Ybarra will provide the leadership Blizzard needs to realize its full potential and will accelerate the pace of change. I anticipate they will do so with passion and enthusiasm and that they can be trusted to lead with the highest levels of integrity and commitment to the components of our culture that make Blizzard so special.
Die neue Führung von Blizzard Entertainment
Jennifer Oneal und Mike Ybarra werden nun als Co-Leader Blizzard anführen. Somit bestimmen nun eine Frau und ein Mann das Geschehen des Unternehmens.
Oneal führte bisher das Studio Vicarious Visions, das einige Remaster wie Tony Hawk Pro Skater und Crash Bandicoot machte. Zuletzt war sie seit Januar 2021 Executive Vice President of Development bei Blizzard.
Ybarra war über viele Jahre Jahre bei Microsoft und dort beim Team Xbox. Seit 2019 ist er bei Blizzard als Executive Vice President und General Manager of Platform and Technology. Zusammen bringen beide mehrere Jahrzehnte an Erfahrung im Gaming mit sich. Mike Ybarra streamt sogar immer mal wieder World of Warcraft auf Twitch.
Vor beiden liegt nun die Aufgabe Blizzard zu einem sicheren, einladenden und inklusiven Arbeitsplatz zu machen.
